Photo backpacks

Here are two photography backpacks I did. The main packs are built with two divided areas, one for a hydration pouch and another for the camera equipment. The insides are lined with velcro so that the padded dividers can be arranged however the user wants. The exteriors are built like regular 3 day packs with molle and nice straps and removable waist belts.

Custom rig

This is a rig built to spec from the customer. It is really nice to work with people who know exactly what they want. This rig holds four M4 mags and two pistol mags. It carries a radio and IFAK, and has two spots underneath for smoke grenades. I made two sets of straps so the user could run it in x or H style harness setup.

Simple plate carrier

Plate carrier in coyote tan with elastic sides. Made slick to go under a rig and built to hold level 4 plates.

Jet Bag

This is another customer specific bag I did. Simple molle and velcro on the outside with divided bungee topped mag pouches on the interior. The rear portion has the velcro slot for a pistol and mags.

Going retro

A lot of tactical gear is like PC equipment, as soon as you buy into it it is out of style or something better has come along. Some gear never goes out of style, at least in some parts of the world. Here is a few things that I thought were good enough to make some modernized replicas of, as an analysis of the classics.

Both were made using 500D cordura nylon and nylon webbing. I added a few customizations on both rigs but tried to be true to the original.

Kydex mag pouch

This pouch incorporates the durability of nylon gear and the simplicity of kydex tensioned pouches. The problem with a lot of kydex mag singles is that they are too wide to stack more than one on a vest next to each other. Using a two part pouch I could slim down the profile of the kydex and fit it into a nylon pouch. I also added molle on the front of it so that the user could add whatever pouch they want on it or even stack two on top of one another. I have been working on a version that is taller to allow more mounting options. I have changed the molding of them to allow for the magpul p-mags that have become so popular lately. Shown also is the prototype with no molle on the outside.

The kydex insert is velcroed into the nylon pouch body and is unidirectional. The user can change the direction of the insert by breaking the velcro bond, slipping the insert out and then reinserting it. This pouch can be molded for almost any mag but spacing on a molle vest will cause problems with mags that are larger than M4 mags (m14, AK, etc..) because the pouches will not sit right next to one another on the 1.5" molle spacing. Belt mounting is possible either by requesting a purpose built pouch or by using the molle attachment loops as belt loops.

LEPAK

I do a lot of things both in design and production for cavalry manufacturing. This is a belt mounted pouch that holds a purpose built trauma kit and gloves. Small radio pouch

Simple bungee and 1" buckle retention on this molle pouch for a small radio. Shown here with a radioshack radio.

LE vest

This was a vest incorporating soft and hard armor for a LE officer. They wanted three double mag pouches sewn onto the front of the vest to carry mags for their trunk gun. Simple 2" buckles on the sides allow this vest to be put on in a hurry.

Dump Pouch

This is one style of dump pouch that I do most frequently. It features the typical sinch bag to retain mags but also it rolls up and can be stowed in a much smaller configuration. It can be attached by molle or threaded onto a belt.

Tear off IFAK

I have done a number of IFAKs, this one incorporates it's own tear-off panel built into it. This pouch also has a glove pouch built into the face and velcro for patches. It is sown next to the BOK I did for the VOK.

M1 carbine mag pouch

This was a pouch made to hold mags for the M1 Carbine. I have made mag pouches for a lot of different types of magazines, and provided the right specs can do it for any.

Fold down radio pouch

This customer wanted to be able to access the face of their radio without having to take it completely from the pouch. I built this pouch so that it would fold down and allow access to the face of it and covered it in vinyl so that the screen could be easily seen. When folded up it was retained by both velcro and a 1" buckle. The radio was retained in the pouch with shock cord so that the retention would be out of the way of cables and the antenna.
It is shown next to a small IFAK I also made.

Defender rig

This is a simple chest rig with three double mag pouches sewn in. The straps are seat belt webbing for comfort but could also be made with normal 17337 webbing. The body of the rig has a spot for stowing various small items.

IBA cover

This is a replacement cover for the IBA type armor panels. The front section has dividers that make the two panels overlap by 2" but become one panel. There is provisions for hard armor plates and molle all around. These can be made with either a velcro cummerbund like the sidewinder or with 4x 1" buckels or like this one 2x 2" buckles.

Corporate Arsenal laptop case

This is a laptop case that sports a low profile area for the placement of your daily carry gun and ammo. This bag has a padded area that is covered in velcro and accessed from either the inside or outside of the bag. In that area you can put any number of velcro backed accessory pouches. This particular one is shown with a Glock 19 and mags. It is in Navy blue and is slick on the outside.
