IOTV panel carrier in Multicam

This is an OTV (outer tactical vest) built for the IOTV panels. This particular vest is slick and low profile. The vest has internal front/rear plate pockets and side plate pockets built into the cummerbund. The side plate pockets are molle mounted so that they can be moved to accommodate the users size. This vest can easily be made with molle webbing and a cummerbund. This particular vest does not have attachment points for DAPS, Groin and ballistic Yoke but that could be an option if needed.

CB OTV

This was a vest built over a soft armor shape. The difference with this one specifically was the shoulder arrangement was overlapping instead of the tunnel and slip pad that I usually do. This vest was made in 500D coyote brown. Sorry for the low quality picture, must have had a smudge on the lens that day.

LE vest

This was a vest incorporating soft and hard armor for a LE officer. They wanted three double mag pouches sewn onto the front of the vest to carry mags for their trunk gun. Simple 2" buckles on the sides allow this vest to be put on in a hurry.

IBA cover

This is a replacement cover for the IBA type armor panels. The front section has dividers that make the two panels overlap by 2" but become one panel. There is provisions for hard armor plates and molle all around. These can be made with either a velcro cummerbund like the sidewinder or with 4x 1" buckels or like this one 2x 2" buckles.

PD vest

This was a vest for a local PD officer. It was built to fit his kit exactly where he wanted it. I made his x26 with a thumb break and several pouches for mace, pistol mags and multi-tool. The rear of the carrier had cuff pouches. I Also put a large admin area behind the chest Velcro. This is a good example of something that the customer and I worked together on to meet all of his needs in a comfortable platform. I think that if armor systems distribute weight properly and are comfortable, you are more likely to wear them.

Micro sized armor vest

This was a vest I did for a nephew of a friend of mine. The boy was into all things military and so I made him this vest to wear for Halloween. I sent it along with an XS PASGT helmet I had sitting around. All the molle pouches are a bit smaller than normal but the vest works as a plate carrier assuming you could find small enough plates ( I did make sure he knew that it was not bullet proof without armor in it).

Slick armor carrier

This vest was meant to be clean and slick so that it would not interfere with the customer wearing chest rigs over the top of it. The armor type was from PACA and the color is coyote tan. Adjustment was through Velcro and elastic.

I have done, and continue to do many of these types of covers for every type of soft and hard armor, for every request I ask for a tracing of armor and circumference about the wearer's belly button.

Sidewinder MOLLE vest

I have done so many of these vests it is hard to keep track. The basic configuration could be made to fit any armor system, NIJ+plates, BALCS+plates, IBA+plates, or just stand alone plates. I use a simple cummerbund system, padding over the shoulders, a drag handle sewn the length of the vest and MOLLE webbing all around. The plate hanger inside adjusts to any size plate. When I get requests for these I ask the customer to provide a tracing of their armor panels and a circumference measurement about their belly button for the cummerbund(which has 12" of adjustment but to get it in the right place to begin with). Simple and straightforeward. Here are a few variations:

Flight Vest

Did this vest after seeing guys link a d-ring through the drag handle of an Eagle PC and then fly. This was also a project to make a plate carrier that could also function as a body harness without decreasing the usability of either platform. I have also done a summer weight version of this using mesh. This vest has type 13 webbing(7000lb) throughout and uses 2" cobra S buckles for side and leg attachments. The leg straps can be removed if desired. The plates are held in individual pockets outside of the harness and can be ditched if necessary.
